RPG Tsukūru Dante 98 was not pre-RPGMaker. Especially if they are led to believe it’s canon. Don’t really appreciate being told I’m wrong there, Rebuilt can be a giant source of confusion for anyone trying to follow the series. Yes, I too recommend playing Rebuilt for those interested, but the question was about the series, not a fan made remake of a pre-RPGMaker game that was remade by the creator into what we were discussing here. I know there are some people who can't get past older graphics, but if that's the case you probably shouldn't play Corpse Party PC in the first place.

It's a faithful remake of the CLASSIC ORIGINAL, CONTEST-WINNING Corpse Party which predates the PC remake by over a decade, AND IT IS OPENLY FREE (since it was a RPG Maker contest). After obtaining every ending in Corpse Party PC (still missing 4 victim IDs, though), I can safely say it is an entirely different story than the ORIGINAL Corpse Party.
